Jokela

Only 20 kilometers away some completely deranged lunatic and utter sonofabitch decided to do a massacre at a high school today. At least 8 people lost their only life and many more their loved ones. And many, including me, thought Finland was a safe place to raise your children...

There is no safe way of permitting guns in any society.

First Snow!

With the first snow of the year falling on us yesterday we had the pleasure of waky waky in a white world, super. Dani re-did his hairdo yesterday by cutting away a big piece of it. Good timing BTW, he's scheduled for a school picture later this month. Lovely....

Puuhamaa

Good fun yesterday with Robin and Dani at Puuhamaa, a fun park about a hundred kilometers north of here. The holiday is passing fast, Friday already.... with Monday looming around the corner. Time I start doing some stuff around the house, there always these repairs that need to get done but never get done....this is the time.

A Bigger Bang

Yesterday the Rolling Stones showed exactly how a rock band should do a fantastic concert. Nothing showed these guys are already in their mid sixties, instead they made Helsinki rock on its foundations. Many thanks to Hendrik who arranged us the "show staff" passes that allowed us to go where normally you would get thrown out and that provided us with a little peek at how things go backstage.

The most ridiculous, meaningless facet of society?

The parking fine....

There is absolutely no doubt about it. Or wait....maybe it's......the parking disk, and forgetting to leave it on your dashboard while you're waiting in a bank to inquire about a sum of money that the insurance company - it was discovered - had already put on your account....a month ago.

40 useless goddamn euro going to "my friend" in the picture for the terrible fault from my side in breaking the rules of society and not showing my friggin parking disk. What a joke. We truly are still living in the past century.

Addicted

Not until a friend mentioned "24...seen it? Fat man..." had I picked up up on the phenomenon. At the time I decided to let it rest as tv series had not really been my thing, remember Baywatch? OC?

I suppose it was boredom that put episode 3 in my shopping cart...and probably the fact that it was only 19.99, but soon I found myself hooked to 24. Soon Mikaela was just as hooked and we decided we needed to purchase episodes 1 to 5 immediately to make sure we would get our fix at least for the forseable future, which may not be that long as sometimes we watch 7 series in a row, resulting in a near 24 overdose, which is....great.

Cruising in Style

Damn it drives nice! And still no speeding tickets...cruise control is a money saver. It may not be that economical with gas...but then, after seeing it and feeling how it drives....screw the planet man...

Tied it!

On November 25, Mikaela and me finally tied the knot, she carries my name now and it feels good. It was nice to see everybody having such a good time at the party, the pictures sure are ridiculous, you all did your very best :)

The band was great and also seemed to enjoy the significant number of Dutch people screaming "Who the fuck" Alice was. They had not experienced that before with the mostly Finnish audiences they played for. It was really nice to see both Mikaela's and my family and friends together, it clicked well and I hope we get to see more of that: We'll do our best trying to drag some over to Holland next time we decide to go!
